BIOGRAPHY

Born in Antalya in 1990, Can Özhan's acquaintance with music began with the piano lessons he took at the age of four. At the age of eleven, he passed the exam opened by Akdeniz University State Conservatory and started his violin education. He developed in a short time, giving his first recital at the age of twelve, and his first concert as a soloist with the orchestra at the age of thirteen. He took part in the establishment of DoÄŸuÅŸ Children's Symphony Orchestra in 2006-2009 and between 2007-2010 the National Youth Symphony Orchestra took part in many important concerts and festivals in Turkey and abroad.

In 2009, he became one of the fourteen young musicians who won the Pekinel brothers' project 'Young Musicians on World Stages'.

He undertook the founding duties of the Mediterranean Chamber Orchestra and the Antalya Philharmonic Orchestra and gave concerts as the lead violinist and soloist of these orchestras.

He continued his violin education with Orhan Ahıskal between 2006-2011 and graduated with the first place.

He won the first place in the competition held in Serbia in 2004-2005 and the 'Best Performance Award' held in Rome, Italy. In 2015, he came first in the competition organized by the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra.

During his education life, he performed more than thirty chamber music and more than twenty solo recitals. He studied with important violin teachers such as Ä°lya Grubert, Ali Rahbari, Maxim Vengerov, Shlomo Mintz, Özcan Ulucan, Cihat AÅŸkın and Sergey Kravchenko.

He gave many concerts as a soloist in Ever the Artist, Antalya State Opera and Ballet Orchestra, Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra, Antalya State Symphony Orchestra, Mediterranean Chamber Orchestra,  MuÄŸla Municipality Chamber Orchestra and Mersin Chamber Orchestra.

Can Özhan participated in the Cihat AÅŸkın 'AÅŸkın Community' project in 2016 and chaired the Cihat AÅŸkın Youth Workshop founded by the artist. He did masterclass studies in various institutions. In 2017, he shared the stage with Roby Lakatos and Shlomo Mintz as part of the World Violin Festival. In the same year, he gave chamber music concerts at Bilkent International Chamber Music Days.

He completed his master's degree at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State Conservatory with Prof. Dr. It was completed under the supervision of Pelin Halkacı Akın.

In 2021, he sang Vivaldi's Four Seasons with violins designed by Ecevit Tunalı, in a project directed by conductor Hakan Şensoy.

The artist has been giving violin and chamber music lessons at Akdeniz University State Conservatory since 2011. The students he trains participate in national and international concerts and receive various awards in national and international competitions.

Can Özhan is the founder of Cameratalia, which started its activities in 2021.

The artist continues his professional music studies as a lecturer at Akdeniz University State Conservatory, a permanent member of Tekfen Philharmonic Orchestra, Borusan Philharmonic Orchestra, and a lecturer at the National Reinsurance Chamber Orchestra.
